september update...

Mickenson

Mickenson is going to be 5 in a couple weeks. I think this picture shows his size well - some of the pictures I get make him look so much older, but he is really still so little! He has become a patient little boy too. His report said that: “He is generally a very happy child. He waits patiently during class or coloring times for his turn. He doesn’t have to be constantly reminded to sit down or stop doing something. He is very observant of his surroundings and what others are doing.”

“Mickenson loves to look at his photo album!” (These are the pictures that I send every month) “When he found out we were going to look at his album, he quickly ran to get Ashley to come and look as well. He looked at every photo with big eyes and smiled whenever there was an animal or something that reminded him of a party.” :)

Ashley

Ashley just turned 2 and is freaking adorable. “Ashley loves to give hugs. He will run up to you and put his whole body into your legs. He loves to twirl his body around and show you his acrobatic skills in the open areas. He has been seen using both hands to draw and eat; it all depends on his mood or whichever hand is preoccupied with a toy in it already.”

“Ashley is a very happy toddler! He gets shy when there are too many strangers around, but quickly warms up when you start to play with him. When he gets really happy, he will stick his tongue out and run with delight.”

Our files are now in MOI where we will wait for the boys’ passports. Then the US Embassy will need to approve our filed I-600 and get us a visa appointment. That’s it, and then we can bring them home. These last 2 steps will have to fly to get them here by Christmas. So we will just have to wait and see...  I feel like the horse who can see the barn, I just want to hurry up and get there.  I am becoming more impatient by the minute.  It is really difficult to see their photos and get their updates each month and know that there is absolutely nothing I can do but sit and wait and hope to hear word on the next step.  Some months are more frustrating than others, and I am feeling it this month.
